Although technically a variation, due to their highly collectible nature we have decided to start documenting them on their own separate pages for easier reference.This is the authentic Y Kant Tori Read US CD release. There have been many bootleg YKTR CDs through the years and while many of them have obvious differences, recently a very convincing counterfeit has surfaced, so please check carefully before purchasing this CD. Examples of unofficial YKTR CDs can be found on our bootlegs page.
The authentic CD has a silver background with a red and black ring round the disc, as well as an outermost ring that's reflective silver (the scan displays it as black, but it is silver). The back insert is solid blue with black text and the catalog number should always end with a 2. Many of the bootlegs used the catalog number from the vinyl and that resulted in 81845-1 which doesn't make sense for a CD.
Also note the different catalog numbers printed on this release:
• "7 81845-2" is printed on the spine
• "81845-2" is printed on the rear insert and CD.

The long box is a former method of packaging CDs that allowed it to be displayed in the deep shelves originally intended for 12" records in stores. The standard CD case was packaged inside a cardboard casing which extended the length. The artwork was often larger to fit the larger surface area.
